The Barn Shed began with a lifelong love of flowers. From a young age, working as a Saturday girl in a local florist, flowers quickly became a big passion of ours. That early love for beautiful blooms naturally grew into a love for interiors—especially after moving into our family home, an old barn in the heart of Yorkshire.

As we renovated the barn we still live in today, the inspiration for The Barn Shed truly began to take shape.

It all started in the garage at the barn (hence the name—The Barn Garage didn’t quite have the same ring to it!). Painting furniture in a dimly lit, unrenovated space slowly evolved into a fully functional workshop and showroom. In 2022, we officially launched as an online shop, took part in fairs at some of Yorkshire’s most beautiful stately homes, and now, we’ve opened the doors to our very own shop—a dream come true.

The Barn Shed is a proudly family-run business. Every piece of furniture is hand-painted, each flower arrangement carefully made, every candle poured, cushion sewn, and card illustrated by us. We deliver the furniture, run the event stands, manage the website, curate the stock, and take care of the shop—every part of The Barn Shed is done by our family, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
